World Congress2014 in Beijing

2014 IAA World Congress Heads to Beijing
Gathering of global ad leaders scheduled for
May 8-10, 2014

Cannes, June 17th 2013 - The International Advertising Association (IAA) announces
that the 43rd IAA World Congress will be held in Beijing on May 8-10th 2014. The
IAA World Congress is one of the largest gatherings of the advertising industry
and is expected to attract some 1,200 delegates from over forty countries. The
IAA Congress is known for attracting prominent leaders from the advertising, media,
and marketing communications industry and will focus on Chinese brand trends and
insights as well as the dramatic evolution currently taking place in the marketing
communications arena.

In making this announcement, IAA Chairman and World President, Faris Abouhamad stated
"The IAA is excited to return to China, host of the IAA's 2004 World Congress. This
is a market that the IAA knows well through our active members in the country and
our ongoing dialogue with China's industry and political leaders. We expect to have
a big international attendance that will experience a superb program and speaker
line-up, as well as glittering evening events in The Great Hall of the People and
other landmark locations in Beijing that the IAA is well known for!"

The most recent IAA World Congresses have been held in Moscow (2010), Washington
DC (2008), Dubai (2006) and Beijing (2004).

Ms. Gan Lin, Vice Minister of the State Administration for Industry and Commerce
of the PRC, officially endorsed the decision on behalf of the SAIC, stating, "The
State Administration for Industry and Commerce of P.R. China (SAIC) will support
the China Advertising Association and IAA China to concentrate the strength of
the entire advertising community and to present a brilliant, unforgettable, unique
and innovative Congress for advertising professionals worldwide. I am happy to see
that the IAA World Congress will be held in Beijing again after a decade, and I
am looking forward to the active participation of the IAA community from all over
the world. Welcome to Beijing!"

The IAA will be announcing the 43rd IAA World Congress theme and initial line-up
of speakers shortly.

IAA plans Ad Industry Africa Conference for 2014

Focus on the rise of the African advertising Market

Cannes, June 21st 2013 - The International Advertising Association (IAA) Board of
Directors confirmed plans to host a new conference in 2014 dedicated to advertising
and marketing communication developments in the African continent.

In making the announcement, IAA Chairman and World President Faris Abouhamad stated
"At both a local and global level, the IAA has extensive capabilities with meaningful
and successful international industry events. The IAA's membership in Africa is
showing signs of accelerating growth in many countries, including Cameroon, Ghana,
and Nigeria, and our new regional VP team is actively developing other markets from
North to South! And so it is a natural development for the IAA to establish a
gold-standard
conference to focus exclusively on ad industry trends, insights and future developments
taking place in Africa."

Saad El Zein, the IAA Vice President of Middle East Africa, reiterated that "Due
to recent global challenges we've directed our focus on regions with higher growth
and potential, and we believe that Africa is 'the' destination for such developments.
In accordance with our association's mission, our members' needs, and our belief
in the market's potential, the IAA will pave the way and provide insights into
Africa and its future. Clearly, holding the 2014 conference here is a very logical
and strategic decision.

Previous IAA events in Africa included the 27th IAA World Congress held in Durban
in 1980, The IAA's Africa Summit held in Sun City in 1993, and the IAA Africa Forum
held in Kenya in 1997.

Norkor Duah, the newly appointed IAA Vice President Development Africa commented,
"This is the IAA's time to reaffirm its industry leadership position among Africa's
advertising community. There is a clear need for marketers to understand our markets,
our consumers and our potential. So it is a natural next step for us to take this
initiative and engage with our industry."

Details of timing, location and theme will be announced in due course.
